Kimberly Vargas Agnese is a former educator and literacy coach for second-language learners and special needs students in Fresno, CA.
As a Chicana poet, she advocates with her people and frequently addresses various social justice issues. Kimberly lives at Meadow Arc, a young food forest, with her adult daughter and a beautiful orange dog that she thinks is a golden retriever.
Kimberly’s full-length collection, Red String on a Saguaro Cactus has been named a finalist for the 2022 Andrés Montoya Poetry Prize, awarded biannually by the Institute for Latino Studies at the University of Notre Dame. Contest results are pending.
